How to Get Rid of Conduit Superman Style...
Superman has many villains in his rogues gallery, as all great superheroes do. Some, like General Zod, come from his home planet, Krypton. Others, like Lex Luthor, are based in Metropolis. However, Superman’s nemesis, Conduit, actually came from Smallville, and was originally not an enemy of the Man of Steel, but of Clark Kent.
To finally get rid of Conduit, the supervillain that was plaguing Superman's life by targeting Clark Kent's loved ones, the Man of Steel, drew on a mix of brain and brawn. Superman was actually outmatched by Conduit, a Kryptonite powered rogue CIA operative, who harbored a grudge against Clark Kent from their youthful days as rival athletes in Smallville. Conduit wore experimental armor that used Kryptonite as an energy source. He was also trained to be a ruthless government assassin.
But when they were kids, Conduit was simply Kenny Braverman, a jealous young man perpetually coming in second best next to Clark. Braverman would ultimately discover Clark's secret identity, and this would make his hatred even more all-consuming. He was convinced that Clark was using his powers to compete unfairly, when in reality Clark's powers had yet to fully mature combined with the fact that he was then unaware of his full alien origin.
In any case, Conduit at first tried to assassinate Clark Kent after he had established himself as a reporter at the Daily Planet in Metropolis. After Superman defeated him, Conduit returned with the knowledge of Clark Kent's alter ego. He started targeting Clark's circle of loved ones, including his adopted parents and Lois Lane. Superman was forced to take them into hiding, and even live under a new assumed identity for a short time.
But Conduit eventually got to Superman, capturing him and staging a final battle in a replica of Smallville stadium as if to relive the athletic competition of the past. Conduit was a vicious enemy, one driven by jealous hatred. And like Superman's epic battle with Doomsday, the Man of Steel found himself evenly matched. But Superman was fighting to save his close friends and family, and was not blinded by rage. Superman knew that he needed to figure out how to get rid of Conduit once and for all so that Clark Kent and his loved ones could finally live in peace.
Conduit was the exact opposite, and was so focused on his vendetta that he failed to notice that his armor was overloading. The resulting Kryptonite power surge killed Conduit, a grimly ironic end since he was killed by the one substance lethal to Superman. Superman was then able to return to normal life. When Conduit died he took Superman's secret with him to the grave. So Superman finally managed to get rig of Conduit, that is, until that time he was attacked by zombie versions of all his dead enemies, Conduit among them...
